Input Use Efficiency
1Funding to reduce wastage of agri-food and agri-product inputs that occur during harvest, during storage of crops and ingredients, and during processing by providing cost share funding towards the purchase of assets and systems that will mitigate wastage at these various points.

Eligible Applicants
- primary producers
- agri-food processors
- agri-product processors
- licensed commercial kitchens
- Indigenous Government/Indigenous individuals, businesses, communities, and organizations, other Indigenous groups undertaking agricultural initiatives
- wholesalers (food, ingredients)
- abattoirs
Eligible Activities
- on-farm metering systems for harvesting equipment that maximize crop yields during harvest
- equipment, technology, and systems that manages and optimizes ingredient usage: calibration systems, metering equipment, raw material delivery systems
- air circulation and humidity monitoring and control equipment to reduce volume and value of wasted ingredients in storage on-farm, at agri-processing facilities, or in storage facilities
- automated produce-cleaning systems to reduce wastage in storage
Project Timeline
Up to 24 months
Cost Share Funding
50 per cent government and 50 per cent applicant to a maximum contribution of $50,000 per project.
