Don't Let it Loose
You can help prevent the introduction and spread of aquatic invasive species. Never release aquarium pets, water garden plants, live food (e.g., fish, crabs, molluscs) or live bait and bait bucket contents into water bodies, toilets or storm sewers. Sport fish may only be released back into the waters from which they were caught (e,g., catch-and-release). Never move sport fish from one body of water to another.
Releasing any organism into a body of water is illegal. It also has the potential to start an invasion or introduce new diseases among native fish. As an example, young invasive Xenocarp - formally called Asian Carp - are prohibited in Manitoba and Canada yet can be mistaken as small-bodied bait species.
