Advice

Worker Advisor Office staff is experienced and knowledgeable about the WCB’s policies and can answer most questions injured workers have about a decision made by the WCB on their claim.  Some examples are:

  • I don’t understand the letter the WCB just sent me. Can you help?
  • The WCB has cut me off but I haven’t recovered. What can I do?
  • The WCB says I owe them money. Do I have to pay them back?
  • My doctor says I can’t go back to work but the WCB and my employer say I have to. What should I do?

We need to fully understand the circumstances of your case to provide appropriate advice.  We will ask you questions about your claim and details of the WCB’s decision, such as:

  • Have you received a letter from the WCB telling you about their decision?
  • What reasons did the WCB give in the decision for denying the benefit?
  • What do you disagree with?
  • Why do you believe the decision is wrong?
  • What benefit are you expecting from the WCB?
  • Is there more information that the WCB has not yet received which supports you should be receiving this benefit?

Once we have a good understanding of your case, we can give advice to help you move forward.

We will try to answer any questions you have, but some questions are best answered by your WCB case manager or your doctor.  Our staff can help you decide on the right questions to ask.

If we cannot help with your concern, we can refer you to other agencies that can provide you with the proper information.
